4 Flute Variable Index End Mills for Steel and Cast Iron

Our 4 flute end mills perform exceptionally well in
most ferrous materials such as steel and cast iron.
They are also used with great success on Stainless
Steel when coated with InoxoCon. They are intended
for applications using Trochoidal or High-Speed
Milling operations and feature a 40° Helix. Variable
Index Flutes, Eccentric Relief, and are Center
Cutting. Most of these diameters feature a Heal Grind to improve chip clearance. The gashes on the end face are
particularly deep to allow for aggressive ramping of the end mills.
We offer the 4 flute end mills either uncoated or with several other coatings depending on your application. AlTiN
offers very good performance in harder materials and is good in high speed milling operations. For improved tool
life and performance we recommend FerroCon coating for all steels and steel alloys especially tool steel. For Stainless
Steel milling we recommend InoxoCon. In the materials they are made to operate in the FerroCon and InoxoCon will
dramatically improve the capability of the end mills over the standard coatings.
These End Mills are also offered in a “standard” flute length or in “long” flute length.
